Alchemy
Alchemy is mix of magic and Chemistry, the practicioner gains the power of alteration. Creating things out of elements or substances that do something somewhat magical. Alter bodies to gain power, Strength and even eternal life.
Alchemists are able to use recipes to create potions, salves, powders and other conjunctions. They use the elements in their Recipes, Rituals and Spells.
Recipes
Recipes are a way to peform magical effects They are commonly used by Alchemists, Hoodoo/Voodo Priests, Taoist Priests and Witches.
Regeneration
Method: Potion, Salve, Powder, Compress, Concoction
Components: Rare
Xp Cost: 6
Essence Cost: 10
Effect: Regeneration gives 5 LP for a period of 4 rounds Limitation: When used on a person you cannot use regeneration again on that person for the same wounds.
Rituals
In the Unisystem there is a skill named Rituals. In the original Supernatural rpg there are also Rituals so I have gathered all of the rituals out of the books and even out of the series so my players or npc’s can use them. I have tried to convert them but I keep changing it to make it work in this system.
I have made it so that Rituals cost Essence just like miracles do.
To perform rituals the player will throw a rituals+Intelligence throw and if it succeeds the ritual will work. If the player is interrupted they have to throw a concentration roll which consists of concentration+willpower to not be interrupted, you can add a bonus if their rituals skill is fairly high.
Player can learn a ritual when they have seen a ritual being performed the more often they have seen it the less difficult it is to learn. They throw Rituals+intelligence – a modifier how difficult you think it would be to learn.
When the player fails to learn it or just really wants it they can spend 1 exp to learn the ritual and they of course need a teacher or book that explains the rituals.
Don’t be afraid of rituals you can make them more difficult if there is a very special component needed to perform such a ritual.
Components
Every ritual needs some form of components with the exception here and there. The key to making sure that Rituals do not get too overused and overpowered are the components. The heavier the ritual the more rare the components and thus how more expensive they are. This way you can keep it in hand somewhat.

Anasazi Wards vs. Evil: When completed correctly, it protects the occupants of the area by blocking creatures, such as the Wendigo, from entering the area (5 Essence)
Binding – Demon: You can bind a demon in a Demon Trap (20 Essence)
Cleansing Ritual, Basic: Basic Cleansing Ritual (3 Essence)
Curse Box: You know how to lock a Cursed item into a box with a special ritual. You still need to know how to make the box or you can get one. (15 Essence)
Curse Object Cleansing Ritual: A ritual that involves the destruction of a cursed item. The cursed item is burned at night in a cemetery hole with several herbs and components including bone ash and cayenne pepper. (Perception + Rituals) One roll per minute; no longer than 2 minutes. (20 Essence)
Dispel Angel: Write Echonian symbols with your own blood (15 Essence)
Exorcism: You can exorcise demons with a Latin text (5 Essence)
Goofer Dust: Creating Goofer Dust (5 Essence)
Hex Bag: Most hex bags are not so much the spells themselves as much as they are a component of a larger spell, typically used as a targeting device for greater magic. (5 Essence)
Holy Water: Create Holy Water, you need a rosary and a Latin text. (2 Essence)
Home Cleansing: With all the hex bags placed, the poltergeists and spirits in a house are banished and the house is cleaned. (5 Essence)
Last Rites: Salt and burn the spirit and/or it’s belongings (1 Essence)
Protection – Salt: Salt to protect yourself. Create a circle or throw it. (0 Essence)
Sigil of Protection of Possession: The wearer is kept safe from possession, create a amulet or tatto it on ones heart. (20 Essence)
Summoning – Demon: You can summon demons, you need it’s name or a belonging and components (15 Essence)
Summoning – Spirit: You can summon spirits, you need it’s name or a belonging and components (15 Essence)

ESP
Those who posses ESP can somehow see or feel a persons or creatures personality/soul.
Some of them see Auras and others feel something in their stomach, but they basicly get an idea of the subjects emotions, thoughts and who they are. Some get images in their heads others get sounds or even emotions.
Those who are stronger can actually see or feel more about a subject and even see if the subject is human or not. The stronger the ESP the better one can pick up a subjects feelings, thoughts and who they are.
To use ESP you throw Perception+Concentration+ESP level to see if it works. It will cost you 5 essence per person. When they get stronger they will be able to do a room for 10 essence.

Healing
A very rare power that only a few handful people on this planet posess.
It is said that one with this power can heal any wound, decease or infection.
The ones able to Heal start often with being able to heal wounds and when they get more experienced their healing capabilities become greater and thus eventually they might be able to bring back the recently deceased.
To heal you just put your hands on the wound and think about healing. You will heal 1 hit point per essence that you use.

Medium
A medium can contact those who are dead and still linger around earth.
Most Mediums who just got this gift are only able to hear and see Ghosts and they are not able to stop the open link between them and the afterlife. As they grow stronger and learn more and more they become strong enough to control it somewhat and not being bothered by ghosts all the time.
Some mediums become so strong that they can host a Seance to make contact with Spirits. Only the strongest Mediums can control the Seance completely.
The strongest Mediums can contact a Ghost without a seance and communicate with them like it is a normal social interaction not needing to let it enter his/her body.
There are stories about Mediums being so strong that they can force a ghost out of the person it is possesing, if it goes wrong there is a possibility that the spirit will jump into your body instead.
Some Mediums can force a spirit to manifest him/herself.
The Game Master will control the Medium power as it can give hints or annoy players. But the player can try to use the power to stop seing ghosts or to communicate with them.
How to communicate with Ghosts you throw Willpower+Concentration+Medium level to see if it works. It will cost you 10 essence per Ghost. When they get stronger they will be able to do a seance.
Seances
A Seance is not so much a power but a part of a Medium arsenal. The most powerful Mediums can host a Seance to communicate with the dead. And the more powerful Mediums can control the seance.
The problem with Seances is if the medium is not strong enough some ghosts will try to enter the living world through them.
A medium should be aware that ghosts are not all equal, some are more fierce and stronger as others and will try to pose as the ghost that you are trying to contact so he/she can become part of the living world again.
To host a seance you need to have to roll a Hard Willpower + Persuasion + Medium to attract a spirit to the table that speaks through you. If you do this, you don’t have any control over your body for the duration, though you can force the spirit out by opposing its Willpower + Spirit roll with your Willpower + Medium roll.

Shield
Physical Shields deflect any attack that seeks to damage the subject directly (i.e., by wounding him). It works against bullets, punches and laser beams, somewhat like armor does. A Physical Shield can have an Armor Value and a Damage Capacity. The Armor Value subtracts from the damage inflicted by an attack. The Damage Capacity acts like a cushion, deflecting some of the energy of an attack but getting weaker with every attack it dissipates. In game terms, each Essence Point used in this effect gives the character either 1 point of Armor Value or 5 points of Damage Capacity.
Any damaging attack that hits the Shielded character must first get through the Armor Value and then must exhaust the Damage Capacity of the Shield. Any remaining damage is applied normally. The maximum Armor Value possible is equal to the character’s Invocation level times 5. There is no limit to the Damage Capacity of the Shield.
All Physical Shields have a major drawback. They do not stop the effects of any movement or action taken by the Magician. The Magician can walk without bouncing off walls or people, and he can shoot or attack without interference from the Shield. However, the Magician could also run into a spike and impale himself, and the Shield would offer no protection. For the same reason, Shields are of no use against falling damage.
The character can keep the Shield around himself indefinitely, until an outside force destroys or neutralizes it, or until he switches it off with a second Focus Task.

Taoist Magic is a combination of Martial Arts, Rituals, Magic and Recipes. They tap into the universal/cosmic web to perform their rituals and Magic. By using Chi/Ki they can acces the cosmic web and with somatic gestures they can tap into it’s power.

Telekinesis
The ability to move objects with mind power. Sadly enough it is not that simple to use it. Only the most powerful of creatures can use Telekinesis.
It’s Mind ove Matter, one can move things around or even attack them with this power just by thinking.
They can use the power nearby to them but when they grow stronger they can use it further away and on more objects at the same time. The strongest Telekinesis users can disrupt things such as Devil’s Traps, salt barriers or even some ritual protections.
To use telekinesis you rollWillpower + Concentration + Telekinesis. Attacks against characters or objects use mental Attributes only (usually Willpower). Your effective Strength with this ability is your Willpower and Telekinesis Trait combined.

The Gift
Those who posses The Gift are able to see that what is hidden for others. They can perceive the prescence of supernatural energies or creatures.
By succeeding at a Simple Perception Test, a Gifted character can sense if a supernatural being is near, and can detect strong flows of Essence in an area or object. This sensing is not precise. It does not tell the character exactly what or who is emanating an excess of magical energies, although the Success Level of the Test gives the Gifted character more information.

Totems
Totems are the spirits or core essence of animals. They are not a specifik spirit or ghost but the embodiement of it, every same animal that can be encountered do not have to share the same personality.
Totems chose you not the other way, if they do not want to be a part of you they will not help you at all. This means only a very small part of humanity is able to communicate with totems.
You are in contact with these Spirits and thus you can summon them. When summoning the creature if he/she agrees will stay with you for a while giving you aid.
Totems grant you bonuses on Attributes, most of the times they give a special ability as well. The totem can give but it can also take, most of them can take away a part of ones attributes for a short period of time.
To summon a totem you must make a check: Willpower + Rituals
To debuf someone you must make a check: Willpower + Rituals

The owl is for wisdom and thus gives wisdom.

Attribute Boost: +1 Perception +1 Willpower
Dark Vision: You can see perfectly in dim light, but in total darkness you have the same restrictions as normal humans.
Debuff: You can debuff someones perception, you can give a target -1 Perception for d6 rounds.
Debuff Cost: 5 essence

Witchcraft is a collection of Spells, abilities and Rituals that can be only used by one who is a Witch, Warlock, Wizard etc etc.
Those who are practitioners of Witchcraft get their powers from a higher being. A Demon, Deitie, God, Angels or maybe even more obscure Spirits or deity like creatures.
